The programs complement the Georgia science and social studies GPS and the North American Association for Environmental Education Guidelines for Excellence in Environmental Education. We provide onsite school field trips, outreach programs for nearby schools, workshops, and teacher resources. Most programs begin at the Confederate Hall Education Center, located at the bottom of the Stone Mountain Walk-up Trail, but explore numerous locations throughout Stone Mountain Park. Teacher Workshop: Monarchs Across Georgia and SMMA are offering a 10-hour, 1-PLU credit teacher workshop about the biology and ecology of the monarch butterfly! You will discover ways to use the monarch butterfly to bring diverse science concepts to life in your classroom! Location: Confederate Hall Friday, October 1, 2010 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. (supper included) Saturday, October 2, 2010 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (lunch included) Application and more information>>> Your registration must be received by September 15th to ensure adequate materials. Space is limited to 20 participants.

For lunch and park souvenirs, please visit the attractions area at Memorial Hall and the Skylift! You can schedule group reservations for park attractions by calling Park Sales at 770-498-5636. We will be happy to work with you and help you to design and schedule a full day at the park, combining an outdoor field trip experience and a visit to one of the park attractions! |
